Train Your Mind for Success

Who We Help

At The Confident Mind, we believe in bringing the stories of the people we work with to life. To help explain how our course can make a real difference, we’ve created fictional avatars representing the types of individuals we support—employees, small business owners, senior leaders, and people in career transition.

How does the course work?

The Confident Mind is a 12-week online course taking place over 12 weeks (or 13 weeks with a week off for intervening school holidays). We meet every Tuesday from 10am to 11.30am for the morning courses and 6pm to 7.30pm for the evening courses. The sessions will be recorded every week and sent to you so you have them for ongoing reference and if you need to miss a live session you can catch up.

Before the course starts you will receive a brief questionnaire which will help us to tailor the course content to your specific needs.

We start the course with an introduction where we share 5 major principles of NLP that we’ll be referring to throughout the course.

This is followed by five modules covering the topics which we know present ongoing challenges to business owners and professionals. We’ll spend two weeks on each topic: time management, communication, self-confidence, stress management and decision making. Sessions are practical and you will have the opportunity both to experience and learn to coach all the techniques we cover.

As part of the course, you will be offered a one-to-one coaching session with either Jenni or Sue.

In the final week we show you how to fit all the pieces together and use them effectively going forward.

Our Modules

This course introduces key NLP principles and techniques to help you improve time management, communication, self-confidence, stress management, and decision-making, fostering personal growth and positive change.

In this session we introduce ourselves and give you an overview of our professional experience. We explain what NLP is and why we are such strong advocates for it in empowering people to unlock their potential, bring about positive change, achieve more success and lead more fulfilling lives.

We outline the structure of the course and give you recommendations on how to get the most benefit from it.

We then go on to share 5 major principles of NLP that we will be referring to throughout the course, including The Four Pillars of NLP which underpin success in achieving positive change and creating excellence.

Awareness of these five principles will really help you in understanding how and why NLP techniques work and in identifying specific challenges you have which you can address during this course.

In this session we will consider the specific challenges people in the group have with time, and the feelings you have about time. We will then explore our different perceptions of time, and you will identify your personal timeline and what this means for you in terms of time management. Lastly, we will work together through a simple technique that you won’t find in business books and is a powerful tool in managing your time more effectively.

In this session we build on our work from the previous week. We address the challenge of procrastination, taking you through a highly effective technique for breaking through it and getting things done. We then introduce a powerful strategy for keeping focused, productive, and on task, so you can use your time well.

In this session we examine the process of communication and how people have different communication styles. We work through some activities that help you get in touch with your own individual communication style and recognise the styles of others. We then introduce and demonstrate a technique that helps you communicate calmly and effectively with others in situations that might be challenging.

In this session we revisit the technique demonstrated in Communication 1. You will then work in pairs to both coach and experience the technique in relation to an appropriate scenario in your own life. In the latter part of the session we bring together all the learning from these two weeks and consider how it will help you communicate better in your work and home life.

In this session we will explore the power of self-talk and how what we say to ourselves in our heads has a massive impact on our lives professionally and personally. We go on to identify limiting beliefs, and how these differ from facts and influence behaviour. We will then introduce and demonstrate an extremely powerful process for shifting unwanted beliefs. This is a 5-step technique and in this session you will work through step one.

In this session we revisit the 5-step technique demonstrated in Self-Confidence 1. You will work in pairs to both coach and experience the next four steps of the technique in relation to a specific limiting belief you want to shift. By the end of this session you will have created a change and will be on the road to embedding a new, more empowering belief to replace whatever was limiting you.

In this session we consider stress, where it comes from and how to manage it. We help you recognise your particular stressors and show you a simple mind management technique that can be used daily to both identify your state of mind and shift it in a positive direction. We go on to introduce and demonstrate one of the most powerful techniques in NLP which can be life changing in regulating your emotional reactions and stress levels. You will then work in pairs to both coach and experience the technique.

In this session we revisit the technique learnt the previous week; we show you how to strengthen its power, and discuss how and when to use it in everyday life. We then explore how and why the way we stand or sit can help us manage stress and increase confidence. Lastly, we guide you in creating your own stress management recipe.

In this session we focus on decisions, good and bad, and how you give yourself the best chance of getting them right. We explore the way our brains work, and how metaphors can help us in decision making. We then introduce and demonstrate a very effective decision-making technique that uses both these elements. You will select a decision you need to make and work through the technique in pairs to both experience and coach it.

In this session we continue to explore the power of metaphors in decision making. We introduce and demonstrate a valuable technique for choosing between two options. You will then select a clear choice decision you need to make and work through the technique to both experience and coach it. At the end of the session we will ask you to think about any questions you have and any techniques you would like to revisit. We will then cover these in Session 12.

In this final session we review all the knowledge and skills covered in the course and explore how it all fits together. We have a ‘Big Quiz’ so you will realise just how much you have learnt. We then answer your questions and revisit any techniques you have requested to consolidate them for you. We will then give you some key resources and recommendations to help you use your NLP skills moving forward.

By the end of this course, you will:

  • Have developed a range of basic coaching skills that will be a useful resource in all your interactions, both at work and at home.
  • Be able to manage your time more effectively using the three techniques either separately, or together, to achieve tasks within a given timeframe.
  • Be able to communicate more effectively, making yourself understood more easily.
  • Have increased your self-confidence. You will be able to spot when you have a limiting belief that is holding you back from achieving something, and you’ll have the tools to reduce and eventually eliminate that unhelpful belief.
  • Be able to quickly and easily spot another person’s communication style, and adapt to match them.
  • Be able to identify your emotional state and use the technique you have learnt to feel better, and in particular, less stressed, in a matter of seconds or minutes.
  • Be able to make decisions more quickly and confidently using a technique that prevents overthinking and aligns your head, heart, and gut—leading to better overall decision-making.”
  • Have a ‘toolbox’ of techniques to use on yourself, and with colleagues and with loved ones, including children, to help fulfil their potential and improve their lives.

NLP stands for Neuro-Linguistic Programming, which is a set of tools and techniques that are extremely effective for self-improvement, and coaching.

Business owners, employees (particularly managers), and professionals transitioning between roles.

The courses take place online. Each session is 1.5 hours. The duration of the course is 12 weeks.

Don’t worry, all the sessions are recorded, and you can catch up by watching them. The video recordings will usually be less than 1.5 hours, because we stop recording when participants go into breakout rooms. Each course includes one 1-to-1 session with a coach, and if you wish, you can use that session to catch up on a week you missed.

Over the 12 weeks, participants go on a personal journey of transformation. You learn a lot about yourself, and you learn some amazing techniques that can change the way you approach certain things, for the better. The time between each session allows you to think about things differently and try the techniques at work or at home. The personal growth you experience is incredible, and would be less effective if the whole course was squeezed into a couple of days.

There are five modules which cover challenges we know affect working adults, and people between roles, on a regular basis. These are: time management, communication, i.e. making yourself understood, self-confidence, stress management and decision making. You learn some techniques that come from Neuro-Linguistic Programming (NLP) that we know are easy, effective, and potentially life-changing. For more information, see Our Modules.

Sessions generally consist of a little teaching and discussion, a demonstration of a technique, an explanation of how it works, and then participants have a go in pairs in breakout rooms. There are recaps every week, and we love to throw in a fun quiz to keep you on your toes!

Yes, The Performance Edge is an adapted version of The Confident Mind Course, tailored to the needs of your organisation. It includes some or all of the modules, and could include one-to-one coaching, as appropriate.

We have delivered the course several times and all the participants have found it valuable, and in many cases, life changing. We send all participants a questionnaire before starting the course to see how they feel about the five topics covered, and then we send it again at the end. Results are confidential, but we can tell you that in every case, there is an improvement in all five areas for every single participant to date. But don’t take our word for it. Please check out our client testimonials on our YouTube channel

Jenni Hallam and Sue Fraser, the two facilitators of The Confident Mind Course, are ‘NLP Master Practitioners’. This means we have invested thousands of pounds, and hundreds of hours, learning how to use NLP techniques. Jenni has 20 years of experience using NLP with herself and her coaching clients. Sue started studying it in 2017, and finally qualified in 2022. Both Jenni and Sue are former teachers, so we have put our skills to work to deliver a fun, interactive course that has been transformational for the participants.
